Job location: Tucson, AZ
Under the supervision of the Pump Shop Supervisor, the Shop Worker is responsible for supporting shop floor initiatives including but not limited to organizing on a daily basis, communicating key actions required, and deliverables (includes safety, quality, 5S, and labor productivity) for the Service Operations group in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Use the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and procedures to ensure the work is done in a safe and environmentally-conscious manner.
Disassemble, clean and inspect equipment received from customers for repair. Fill out required documentation for the as found condition report.
Receive parts verifying that the parts received match the packing list. Forward receiving paperwork to the Customer Service Representative. Inspect parts as required.
Operate lifting equipment (overhead crane and forklift) in a safe manner.
Assemble, static test, and mount accessories to insure a quality end product is delivered to the customer.
- and interpret blueprints to assure accurate assembly of pumps, accessories, valves and process equipment including preparation of components before assembly and testing, and inspection after completion at a normal level of efficiency to meet production standards.
Perform blast booth and paint preparation of all components, when required.
Produce product or perform work that will meet Weir’s efficiency and quality standards.
Perform daily maintenance (TPM) and housekeeping (5S) for machine and/or work area.
Participate on cross-functional teams to ensure the continuous, ongoing improvement of processes, methods, productivity and quality, while reducing costs.
Advise the Shop Supervisor of potential plant, equipment, and safety problems.
Complete special projects as assigned.
Regular and reliable attendance is key to performance of this job.
Attend training, safety, employee, and department meetings, as required.
Keep the Shop Supervisor aware of pertinent issues and information warranting his or her knowledge, action and/or resolution.
Comply with all Service Operations Department and Company policies, procedures, and programs.
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
